Providence Man Hit With Drug, Gun, Body Armor Charges: Cops
The Providence man was held without bail, police said.
PROVIDENCE, RI — Special units and uniformed troopers teamed to take down a Providence man on numerous felony charges, police said.
Adalberto Pagan Benejan, 40, was arrested Aug. 6 and charged with possession of a firearm prohibited — person convicted of a crime of violence, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a firearm while in possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and unlawful possession of body armor, the Rhode Island State Police said in a media release.
Benejan was arrested by the state police Intelligence Unit, the Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Auto Theft Unit and the Uniform Bureau, according to the release.

"Mr. Benejan was transported to State Police Headquarters, processed and later turned over to officials at Sixth Division District Court for arraignment, where he was ordered held without bail, the release said.
