Rhode Island Safest State In US For Holiday Driving: Study

The study analyzed fatal crash data from the NHTSA's Fatality and Injury Reporting System Tool for November and December.

Rhode Island is the safest state in all of America when it comes to holiday driving, according to a recent study.

The study, conducted by California bail bonds service Alana’s Bail Bonds, analyzed fatal crash data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Fatality and Injury Reporting System Tool for November and December, according to a media release.

"Additionally, the team provided insights on the days and hours when crashes are most likely to happen, highlighting the single most frequent crash day and the highest-risk hour for drivers," the release said.

The goal of the study was actually to determine the most dangerous states for holiday driving and Rhode Island finished dead last, making it the safest.

Rhode Island had a mere 4.01 fatal crashes per 100,000 residents, the study showed.

Second least dangerous state, according to the study, was New York with 4.26 fatal crashes per 100,000 residents.

The most dangerous state was Mississippi with 17.5 fatal crashes per 100,000 residents, followed by New Mexico and South Carolina.
