Inside Look At Law Enforcement With Citizens' Academy
The program provides citizens with a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement.

RHODE ISLAND — The Rhode Island State Police have invited the public to participate in a Citizens' Academy starting in September.
The program is scheduled to run from 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays. The academy begins Sept. 10 and continues through Oct. 29.
Participants will "engage in interactive sessions covering topics" such as the use of Tasers, officer safety, K-9 operations, the state police emergency communication center, patrol operations, forensic services, accident reconstruction and the use of drones in public safety, according to a state police press release.

Eligible applicants must reside or work in the state of Rhode Island, be a U.S. citizen, 18 or older, consent to a limited background check and agree to attend all sessions with no more than one excused absence.
Applications are due Aug. 1. To apply, visit the state police website.
