Rhode Islanders Name 3 Towns Worthy Of A Hallmark Christmas Movie: Survey

More than 3,000 responded to the Hallmark Christmas movie survey.

A survey determined which Rhode Island towns respondents believe most deserve a Hallmark Christmas movie of their own.

"Some towns in America don’t just celebrate Christmas — they look like they were built for a Hallmark movie," according to a media release accompanying the results of the survey.

"Think snow-dusted main streets where every lamp post is wrapped in garland, independently owned bakeries glowing with warm light, and town squares that somehow always have the 'perfect tree,'" the release said. "These are the places where it feels entirely plausible that a big-city architect might fall for a local bookstore owner, or that the annual tree-lighting ceremony could magically fix everything."

More than 3,000 responded to the survey conducted by travel company Exoticca, according to the release, and they chose East Greenwich, Wickford and Bristol.

"East Greenwich does Christmas with quiet confidence," the release said. "Its historic waterfront glows with twinkling lights, the clapboard houses look dressed for a magazine spread, and the air carries that salt-and-cinnamon mix you might find by the sea in winter."

As for Wickford, its "picturesque harbor, historic streets, and small-town charm make it a picture-perfect holiday escape," according to the release, and Bristol, "known for its historic charm and small-town spirit, turns into a winter wonderland in December. "
