RHODE ISLAND — The average price of gas in Rhode Island hit a record high Tuesday and is now $4.41 per gallon, according to AAA Northeast.

Gas prices across the country have been climbing steadily since January, due primarily to the high cost of crude oil, which is nearing $110 a barrel.
