5 Things to Know About Today

Thundershowers; 'My Fair Lady' in library; RIPTA public hearings; Police Cove meeting; beach is open for season.

Here are five things you should know about today in Barrington:

  1. A thundershower is possible in the morning with variable clouds and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon with a high temperature of 71 degrees.
  2. The film-lecture series, “Audrey in the Afternoon,” continues at 1 pm in the Barrington library auditorium with “My Fair Lady”; the salute to Audrey Hepburn is led by librarian and film enthusiast Doug Swiszcz, who will provide commentary.
  3. RIPTA holds two public hearings in the Barrington library at 10 am and 6 pm on its proposed changes to bus routes statewide.
  4. The committee crafting a park out of Police Cove meets at 7 pm in the Council Chamber in Town Hall.
  5. Barrington Beach has opened for the season just in case you missed it over Memorial Day weekend; contact the Recreation Department for season passes.
