5 Things to Know About Today
Sunny, hot: play badminton; view 'The Hobbit'; BCA spring show starts; bookstore hosts story hour.
Here are five things you should know about today in Barrington:
- Mostly sunny and hot with a temperature near 90 degrees.
- Play badminton every Thursday night in May and June at the Barrington Middle School; the cost is $5 per night and no pre-registration required.
- View “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” at 6:30 pm in the Barrington library auditorium; this epic is the first of a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien.
- Barrington Christian Academy’s annual spring show opens at 6:30 pm with grades K-2 and the BCA Believers choral group presenting musical selections, and the eighth grade presenting the play, "Rescue in the Night”; the school is located at 9 Old County Road.
- Barrington Books, 184 County Road, hosts a story hour for children every Thursday at 10 am.
