BARRINGTON, RI — The Barrington Town Beach is closed to swimming due to high bacteria levels, state health officials said Tuesday.

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) deemed the beach unsafe for swimming because of high bacteria levels. RIDOH officials said they will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout summer.
