Housing Board Meets; Swim Teams Open Seasons at New YMCA Pool

Here are some things you may want to know about today, Dec. 17, in and around Barrington:

• Snow likely with 2 to 4 inches possible as temperatures get up into the high 20s.
• The Barrington Housing Board of Trustees meets at 7 pm in the Senior Center in the lower level of the library.
• The boys and girls swimming teams at Barrington High School open their seasons against Smithfield High at the new pool at the Bayside YMCA at 3:30 pm.
• The Barrington High boys’ basketball team hosts La Salle Academy at 7 pm at the high school gymnasium.
• Call the Barrington library ahead of time if you are attending an event or meeting there. Work on replacing the elevator will put it out of service for up to three weeks starting any day now, which will make the second floor inaccessible except by the stairwell. The number is 401-247-1920.
