Phyllis Sweeney, 82, Active Volunteer

Phyllis L. Sweeney, 82, of Pine Cone Drive, Barrington, died on May 27, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was 82.

She was the wife of John C. Sweeney for 62 years. Born in Manchester, NH, a daughter of the late Roland and Charlotte (Arnold) Willey, she lived in Barrington for 59 years.

Sweeney was a bookkeeper for 35 years before retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Barrington and a volunteer in the Encore consignment shop. She also was a volunteer for the TAP-IN program.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8 pm at the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside. Her funeral will be held on Friday May 31, at 9:45 am from Watson funeral home with a funeral service in St. John’s Episcopal Church, 191 County Road, Barrington at 11 am.
