Police Investigating Armed Home Invasion in Barrington
A mother and adult son were assaulted and robbed by a group of men, including one who reportedly was carrying a shotgun.
BARRINGTON, RI—Barrington police are investigating a Sunday night home invasion and robbery during which three- to four men entered a Lake Avenue house and assaulted and robbed an adult mother and son.
Police said that the incident appears to be isolated and the public should not be alarmed.
Police said the incident occurred at around 8 p.m. and one of the suspects is believed to have been holding a shotgun .

The victims reportedly are new to the area and detectives believe they were targeted.
Police said the victims could not identify the suspects or a suspect vehicle.

“We do not want the public to be alarmed,” police said in a post on the department’s Facebook page.
