Ten Barrington Nonprofits Benefit from 2013 Charity Classic Golf
CVS Caremark announces the recipients of funds raised from 2013 Charity Classic golf tourney in Barrington.

Ten Barrington nonprofit organizations are among 81 area nonprofit organizations that will receive funds from the CVS Caremark Charity Classic golf tourney held each year at Rhode Island Country Club.
A presentation ceremony was held on Thursday, Dec. 19, at CVS Caremark headquarters in Woonsocket.Β

The Barrington golf tourney, which always attracts world-class golfers from the PGA, LPGA and Champions tours, is the largest charitable sporting event in Rhode Island. The amount donated this year to organizations all across Southern New England brings total support since 1999 to more than $17 million, according to CVS Caremark.
CVS Caremark President and CEO Larry Merlo and PGA professionals Billy Andrade of Bristol and Brad Faxon of Barrington co-hosted the ceremony and check presentation.

The trio distributed the funds amid a holiday atmosphere and some inspirational stories.
