Town Council Fills Volunteer Boards, Including Appropriations Committee
Chad Mollica named to Barrington's budget-crafting Committee on Appropriations.
The Town Council made a slew of appointments to boards and commissions at a special meeting Monday evening, Dec. 9, including one to fill a vacancy on the budget-recommending Committee on Appropriations.
The appropriations appointment was one of only two that did not get a unanimous approval. Β The other one was for the Energy Committee.
βWe are blessed with an abundance of talent,β said Town Council President June Speakman in making all the appointments.Β

Chad Mollica, who ran for the School Committee in 2008 and 2010, was selected by a 3-2 vote to take the place of Kathy Cadigan on the Committee on Appropriations. Speakman and Town Councilors Bill DeWitt and Ann Strong favored him.
Town Council Vice President Kate Weymouth and Councilor Cynthia Coyne preferred Amy Serrano, a former budget analyst for Rhode Island.
