Bristol Cop Shoots Naked Man Who Police Say Attacked 2 Women: Report
Police say a naked Massachusetts man followed two college students from Colt State Park and rammed their car at the Bristol police station.
BRISTOL, RI — A Bristol police officer shot a man Thursday in the parking lot outside the town's police station who police say attacked two young women.
Bristol Police Chief Kevin Lynch told WPRI 12 the college students were at Colt State Park when a naked 39-year-old Rehobeth, Massachusetts, man began harassing them. The women left, but then the man started following them in his car, according to police. So, the two women drove to the Bristol police station, which is when police said the man rammed into the victims' vehicle several, according to the news station.
According to police, the man also drove at a desk sergeant who tried to help the women, which is when the officer shot the man.

"A violent incident unfolded in the south parking lot of the police station, and the on-duty desk sergeant acted with distinction in a life-saving measure to safeguard two younger female victims and himself," Lynch said in a news release.
Police said the desk sergeant and the two women did not suffer serious injuries. The suspect received immediate medical attention and remains in custody, police said. Police have not released the suspect's name.

Per state law, Rhode Island State Police and Attorney General Peter Neronha are investigating the officer-involved shooting.
