Bristol Man Accused Of Stabbing 2 Women In Domestic Incident

Bristol police say Eric Squires, 43, was found covered in blood in the hallway when officers arrived on scene of the stabbing.

BRISTOL, RI — A Bristol man was arrested Monday after police said he stabbed two women during a domestic violence incident.

Eric Squires, 43, was charged with two counts of felony domestic assault on a person over 60 causing serious bodily injury, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon in a dwelling house, weapons other than firearms prohibited, possession of a knife during the commission of a felony, domestic disorderly conduct, and violation of a no-contact order (second offense).

Bristol police said the stabbings happened around 5 p.m. at a home on Wood Street. When officers arrived, they found Squires standing in the hallway covered in blood, as well as two women suffering from numerous stab wounds, police said. Police said Squires was not responsive to officers' instructions.

Both stabbing victims were taken to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence and are in stable condition, police said.

Squires was arraigned Tuesday and is being held at the Rhode Island Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston until his next court date.

Police said the stabbing remains under investigation and are looking for any information that may help. Anyone with information is asked to call Bristol police at 401-253-6900, extension 211.
