Dog Dies, 2 People Injured, 4 Displaced In Bristol House Fire
Bristol fire officials say the fire was caused by a cigarette being thrown into a trash can inside the home.
BRISTOL, RI — Two people were hospitalized, and a dog died Saturday after a house caught fire in Bristol, according to fire officials.
Fire officials said the department received a call about smoke coming from a home on Coggeshall Avenue near Division Street around 10:15 a.m. The flames grew large quickly, requiring a second alarm to be struck.
Firefighters worked to control the fast-moving fire, but the home sustained significant damage. Fire officials said four people were displaced, a dog died, and two people were taken to the hospital with injuries. A firefighter was also evaluated on scene.
