Monday Essentials: Brown Bag Lunch Series; 250th Anniversary Resume

Here are a few things to know about this week in Bristol and Warren:
AĀ weekly ābrown bag lunchā seriesĀ for East Bay business women resumes Tuesday, Jan. 7, and runs for the next three months at the East Bay Chamber of Commerce, 16 Cutler St., Warren.Ā The womenās winter series is hosted by W.E.B.O.N.D. (Women's Empowerment and Business Owners Networking Development) and sponsored by RE/MAX Riverās Edge from 12 to 1 pm. There is a guest speaker each week. Admission is $5 a week or $45 for the complete series.Here is the January schedule of topics and speakers:
- Jan. 7 Ā "Healthcare Reform & Tax Update" led byĀ Michelle Hughes
- Jan. 14 Ā "Peace and Power as a Woman Entrepreneur ā Two Key Practices" led byĀ Joanna Meriweather
- Jan. 21 "Intuitive Leadership" led byĀ Terrie Wildemann
- Jan. 28 Ā "No Drama Decisions" led byĀ Kate HanleyĀ
Wednesday Night at the Movies returns on Jan. 8 for a winter run at the Rogers Free Library, 525 Hope St, in Bristol. Peter Weldy host the first film tonight -- "Stuck in Love" starring Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly. It tells the story of an acclaimed writer, his ex-wife and their teenagers who discover how complex love can be over on tumultuous year. Rated R and 97 minutes long.Ā Parking is available in the rear of the building on the north side.Ā The movie starts at 7 pm.

TheĀ Stuff a Bus winter coat drive operated by Liberty Tax Service, the Providence Bruins and RIPTA comes to Bristol at 576 Metacom Ave. on Tuesday at 6 pm. The coat drive benefitsĀ the Providence Corps of the Salvation Army.
Singers Joyce Katzberg and Jimmy Warren sing at the Baptist Church in Warren on Sunday, Jan. 12, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the church. Katzberg has been entertaining New England audiences with her unique blendĀ of topical and traditional, historic and hysterical songs for 41 years. Itās often described as folk-fusion. In 2006, she was honored by theĀ URIĀ honors colloquium for "career contributions using music as a tool ofĀ peace, non-violence and social justice - changing the world one song at aĀ time." A free will offering will be collected during intermission to benefit the Historic Rehabilitation Capital Campaign Fund of the church, located at the corner of Main and Miller streets.Ā
