North Providence Renew Plea For Public Assistance With 2-Year-Old Homicide
Claire Flynn was found slain in her Centerdale Avenue home nearly two years ago, police said.
NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI — The North Providence Police Department issued a renewed plea to the public for information on a two-year-old unsolved homicide.
Claire Grady Flynn, a 61-year-old retired nurse for the Rhode Island Department of Corrections, was found dead in her Centerdale Avenue home on Dec. 20, 2023, according to a media release from the North Providence Police Department.

Flynn's brother discovered her body after not having heard from her, the release said.
"Despite an extensive ongoing investigation, the case remains unsolved," the release said.

"Any person who knew Ms. Flynn or had recent contact with her is asked to call the North Providence Police Detectives," Chief Alfredo Ruggiero in the release.
"Detectives are committed to solving this case and the cooperation of the community is vital to ensuring that justice is served for Claire Flynn," Ruggiero said.

"The North Providence Police is actively exploring all leads and investigative possibilities, and has augmented its efforts with support from external agencies offering specialized resources. Further assistance from the public remains vital," the release said.

"The North Providence Police are specifically seeking information from anyone who knew Claire Grady Flynn or had contact with her during 2023, particularly November," according to the release. "Detectives are interested in any details regarding her personal relationships, daily routine, or places she frequently visited. If you have any information, even the tiniest detail, you are urged to come forward. Tips can be provided anonymously."
The department asked tipsters to call Detective Jason Burlingame directly at 401-231-4533, extension 1115, or to use the anonymous tip line at 401-437-6418.
