Sex Offender Moves To Bristol: Police

Bristol police said registered sex offender Roy Wisti moved to town and registered with authorities.

BRISTOL, RI — A registered sex offender recently moved to Bristol, according to police. Roy Wisti, 54, is a "Level 3" sex offender, the most dangerous classification designated by the Rhode Island Sex Offender Board. He is currently living at a Wood Street residence.

Wisti recently lived in Providence, according to the board. Level 3 offenders are at a "high risk" to reoffend, according to the board.

In 2011, Wisti was convicted of indecent assault on a 9-year-old girl. In 2010, he was convicted of molesting a 9-year-old girl. And in 2005, he was convicted of risking injury to a 12-year-old girl and child pornography possession.

Currently, Wisti is not wanted for any crime.

There are three other sex offenders living or working in Bristol. The board stresses it is illegal to use sex offender registration information to commit such crimes as threatening or otherwise.
