Tiverton Police ID Victims in Tuesday's Fatal Crash
Tiverton Police have identified the victims in the Stafford Road crash that left one 21-year-old man dead and another critically injured on Tuesday.

Tiverton Police haveĀ identified the victims inĀ Tuesday's early-morning crash on Stafford RoadĀ in TivertonĀ that killed one 21-year-old local man and left another in critical condition.
Bryan Henrique, 21, ofĀ 35 Sheldon St., Tiverton, was killed on TuesdayĀ after his 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix struck a utility pole on Stafford Road atĀ 1:23 a.m. The carĀ catapulted off of the roadway andĀ landed in the woods, trapping Henrique and a singleĀ passenger. State medical examiners pronounced Henrique dead at the sceneĀ of the crashĀ shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.Ā Henrique was a 2010 graduate of Tiverton High School.
The passenger,Ā Seth A. Poe Demoura, 21, ofĀ 386 Canonicus St., Tiverton, was extricated from the severely damaged sedan after several attempts to use the Jaws of Life.Ā Rescue personnel were able to freeĀ Poe Demoura from the Pontiac after removing the roof of the vehicle using theĀ Jaws of Life.Ā He was transported to Rhode IslandĀ HospitalĀ via a Medflight Helicopter at 2:13 a.m. where he remains in critical condition.Ā
Tiverton Fire Rescue crews had to cut down several trees in order to reach the car.Ā Poe Demoura graduated from Tiverton High School in 2009.
Police said neither the driver norĀ passenger was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.Ā
Although the cause of the crash remains under investigation, police stated that anĀ initial investigation determined the vehicle was traveling southbound on Stafford RoadĀ at a high rate of speed prior to the accident.Ā
"Alcohol has not been ruled out as a contributingĀ factor," Tiverton Police indicated in a press release on Tuesday evening.Ā
The accident remains under the investigation of certified accident investigators DetectiveĀ Brendan McKinnon and Officer Dan Martin of the Tiverton Police Department. State Police have offered the assistance of their accident investigation unit and Tiverton PoliceĀ investigators will meet and consult with State Police investigators within the next several days.
