Where To Eat Out On Thanksgiving In RI?

Some of the best restaurants, like Waterman Grille, are closed, but many good ones are open and still accepting reservations. But hurry.

BRISTOL, RI—If you don't want to cook on Thanksgiving or need a meal in between, making lunch and dinner reservations is still an option — but the option is quickly fading. Besides the old Thanksgiving Day standby, the Chinese restaurants, many establishments are open. But tables are going fast and you may be looking at a reservation waiting list. Here's what we found, and if we missed a spot, be sure to let us know in the comments below the story:

The Lobster Pot, in Bristol, is still accepting reservations for Thanksgiving. Seating are at 12:30, 3 and 5 p.m. In addition to the regular menu, the restaurant has specials, which are turkey and prime rib.

Red Stripe (465 Angell St., Providence at Wayland Square) has a few smaller tables open at the noon seating. They are filling up rapidly, the manager said, and are not taking reservations for 2 and 4 p.m.

Red Stripe (455 Main St., East Greenwich) is accepting reservations but says they are also filing up fast. Best chance is at the noon seating. Some seats are still available at 2 and 4 p.m., but it's "extremely limited."

White Horse Tavern (26 Marlborough St., Newport) expects to be full by the end of today (Monday, Nov. 20). They had just 16 seats left for Thanksgiving Day, as of early afternoon.

We'll add to the list (or delete as they fill up). But we're starting with ones we've tried and liked.
