Burrillville is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Burrillville has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.

A few things to know:

  • For history buffs, Burrillville is home to several fascinating sites, including the Jesse M. Smith Memorial Library, which was completed in 1935. The town also has several well-preserved 19th-century mill villages, such as Harrisville, which is home to several shops, restaurants and artist studios — along with the historic farmhouse which inspired the movie “The Conjuring.”
  • For a unique dining experience, check out Wright's Farm Restaurant, which has been serving up family-style chicken dinners since 1972. The restaurant can seat up to 1,200 people at a time and has become a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
  • Burrillville is home to the George Washington Management Area, a 4,000-acre state forest that offers hiking trails, fishing spots and campsites. In the 1930s, the US Government acquired and developed the land with the help of the Civilian Conservation Corps, and it was later turned over to the state during WWII.
  • If you're a fan of craft beer, be sure to check out the Bravo Brewing Company, which is located in the Pascoag village of Burrillville. The brewery offers tastings in its newly-expanded facility, which produces a variety of unique and flavorful beers.
  • The town is home to several annual festivals and events, including the Burrillville Arts Festival, which features works by local artists, and the Burrillville Green Festival, which aims to promote a sustainable lifestyle by offering recycling tips and information.
