• Solar Program Designed to Help Low-Income and Environmental Justice Zone Residents Instead Leaves them Stranded (progressive-charlestown.com) — Central Falls homeowners in designated environmental justice zones were eligible for a state-backed solar program that promised lower electric bills, but now face uncertainty after the chosen contractor, PosiGen, filed for bankruptcy. The McKee administration’s Affordable Solar Access Pathways initiative had begun installing panels and projecting savings, yet applications are paused, most funding remains unused, and state officials have not clarified how existing participants will be protected.
