Charlestown Rathskeller Unveils New Cocktail Menu
The new menu offers a wide variety of beers, wines and "Prohibition-Era Inspired Cocktails."

CHARLESTOWN, RI — The Charlestown Rathskeller has unveiled its new cocktail menu.
Beverage Director Jill Fonnemann, who started at the Charlestown Rathskeller as a bartender in 2011 before moving up to lead bartender, bar manager and her current position, revamped the menu, including its "Prohibition-Era Inspired Cocktails."

"I design and write our beverage menu by creating my own recipes through infusions, extractions and changing the chemical makeup through various creative techniques," Fonnemann said. "I name the cocktails, choose the appropriate glassware, as well as the type of garnish necessary, ‘to tie the room together.’"

Topping the list of Prohibition-Era Cocktails is Zsa Zsa's Dirty Deal.
"Fun fact, my dear canine companion Zsa Zsa is always the first cocktail on all of my menus," Fonnemann said

The Dirty Deal is made with Stilton blue cheese fatwashed Tito's Handmade Vodka, olive brine and dry vermouth, served with blue cheese olives.
A former speakeasy-turned-restaurant and entertainment venue, the Charlestown Rathskeller boasts an impressive food menu to go along with its latest drink menu, the seventh seasonal one Fonnemann has written.

"The majority of my ingredients are organic and locally sourced," she said. "But I do adore the fine ingredients found all over the world."
