Cocaine, Fentanyl Hidden In Juice Boxes, Seized: RI State Police

The drugs, found during a traffic stop Thursday on Interstate-95, are worth $110,000, state police said.

WEST GREENWICH, RI—A Providence woman faces narcotics charges after state police searched her car and seized $110,000 worth of cocaine and fentanyl. Ana Melendez Santana, 23, was arrested Thursday at 3 p.m. on Interstate 95 in West Greenwich, state police said.

She is being charged with:

  • Manufacture/possession/delivery of more than one kilo of cocaine
  • Delivery/possession with intent to deliver and manufacture - cocaine
  • Delivery/possession with intent to deliver and manufacture - fentanyl

She's also been cited for traffic violations (driving with expired registration and operating a motor vehicle without evidence of insurance), state police said.

Police pulled her over near Weaver Hill Road in West Greenwich and found "3 kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated $100,000 and 4.3 ounces of fentanyl worth an estimated $10,000," state police said. The drugs were in vacuum-sealed packs inside a container of juice boxes, police said.
