Committee Approves School District Technology Policy
Policy details the approval process of technology and computer purchases, licensing and maintenance with the school district.

Â
During Tuesday's School Committee meeting, members discussed and approved the second reading of the school district's Technology Plan. The Plan describes the protocol for technology purchases, approved district software, educational versus recreational software and maintenance and service of computer hardware.Â
According to the Plan, a list of approved district software will be maintained by the Technology office and any software not on the list must be approved by Director of Technology, Jason Martin. All computer maintenance must be done through the Office of Technology as well.Â

Use of district networks is also explained in the Plan in regards to personal and private directories and the creation of public folders.Â
Committee members agreed to revise the first reading of the Technology Plan to state that all technology purchases must carry the recommendation of the Director, instead of only purchases more than $250. See the attached PDF for the full policy.
