Coventry Court Log: Firing in a Compact Area, DUIs, Conspiracy

Coventry police charges heard in Kent County Court on April 27.

COVENTRY, RI—The following Coventry court cases were heard in Kent County Court on April 27:

Nicole R. Cournoyer, 34, of 95 Mass Ave., Providence, pleaded no contest to heroin and Alprazolam possession and prostitution. She was sentenced to 18 months of probation and ordered to obtain substance abuse counseling. The Alprazolam and prostitution charges were dismissed.

Elizabeth A. Duque Nerube, 52, of 1850 Moorsefield Road, Kingston, pleaded no contest to driving under the influence and refusing a chemical test. She was fined $500, ordered to complete 20 hours of community service, her license was suspended for 60 days and she must use an ignition interlock system upon reinstatement.

Brian J. Gravier, 37, of 713 Washington St., Coventry, pleaded no contest to breaking and entering without consent and obstructing a police officer. He was sentenced to four years of probation and ordered to attend a residential substance abuse treatment program.

Daniel M. Harrison, 41, of 79 Kulas Road, West Warwick, pleaded no contest to refusing a chemical test and driving under the influence. He was fined $900, ordered to complete 10 hours of community service, attend a DUI program and his license was suspended for six months. The DUI charge was dismissed.

Bernadette N. Sheldon, 42, of 17 Read Ave., Coventry, pleaded innocent to domestic disorderly conduct and domestic malicious damage. The charge was dismissed.

Frederick M. Vaughn, 24, of 142 Old Flat River Road, Coventry, pleaded no contest to discharging a firearm in a compact area. The case was filed for one year and he was ordered to obtain counseling, forfeit the weapon and pay court costs.

Lionel Brown, 24, of 27 Boston St., Coventry, pleaded innocent to domestic assault and domestic refusing to relinquish a telephone. He was released on $5,000 personal recognizance until May 11. A no-contact order was issued.

Carissa Fontes, 30, of 35 Clinton St., Johnston, pleaded innocent to driving under the influence. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance until May 18.

Michael J. Gemma, 33, of 27 Hunters Crossing Road, Coventry, pleaded innocent to domestic assault. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance until May 11.

Joseph Gosselin, 43, of 655 Read School House Road, Coventry, pleaded innocent to driving under the influence. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance until May 11.

Richard E. Hamilton, 33, of 26 Whitford St., Coventry, pleaded innocent to domestic assault. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance until May 11. A no-contact order was issued.

Christian Hunt, 28, of 200 Woodland Drive, Coventry, entered no plea to a charge of felony conspiracy. He was released on $20,000 surety bail until a May 23 screening conference.

Christopher L. James, 22, of 8 Remington St., West Warwick, entered no plea to a charge of possession of a firearm without a license. He was held without bail as a bail violator until a May 10 hearing and a June 6 screening conference.

Yvette M. Johnson, 49, of 92 Weaver Hill Road, West Greenwich, pleaded innocent to simple assault and disorderly conduct. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance until May 11.

David J. Mastrofine, 18, of 159 Knotty Oak Road, Coventry, entered no plea to a conspiracy charge. He was released on $10,000 surety bail until May 23.

Lynn Turner, 25, of 50 Starr St., Johnston, pleaded innocent to fraudulent use of a credit card and conspiracy. He was released on $1,000 surety bail until May 18.
