Coventry Dog Park Process Continues to Move Forward
Plans for landscaping, fund-raising and insurance are currently being considered.

After town officials confirmed a location for the future Coventry Dog Park in September, organizer Lisa Finneran has been busy making plans for construction, landscaping, fund-raising and other aspects of the undertaking.
The park will be established behind the Coventry Town Hall Annex, at 1675 Flat River Rd., in the first field behind the building that stretches into a wooded area.

Finneran recently met with Town Manager Tom Hoover to discuss some light excavation work that will allow members of the Coventry Dog Park Association to plant grass seed on the site, a step that will most likely occur in the spring. Finneran also explained that she is awaiting an answer from the Town regarding water access and a meeting place for Association members.
Pricing estimates for fencing, landscaping and insurance have also been recently collected, which will help determine how much fund-raising is needed.

In addition, Finneran noted that she has been in communication with an attorney who will advise the Coventry Dog Park Association about liability issues and compliance with local laws.
An Association meeting will be held once Finneran has received answers to the legal questions that have been presented to the attorney.
