Coventry Fire District Budget Vote is Tuesday
Voters are asked to come review the new union contract, approve the budget and vote for four new board members.

The Coventry Fire Department is apparently on a path to recovery after the district’s fire board and the union came to terms on a new contract.
Now, the district needs to get voter approval for that contract, along with a vote in favor of a new budget to cover the next 12 months.
Voters also must vote for four members of the Board of Directors and Board Chairman Frank Palin is urging everyone to come to Feinstein Middle School on Tuesday night.

Many of the districts financial problems stem from a lack of voter involvement and oversight. District board meetings, until the district lumbered toward disaster many months ago, have historically been poorly attended.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. (Tuesday, Dec. 8.)
