Coventry Little League Loses 9-5 To Midwest Team
The team will play another game Monday in the consolation bracket in Williamsport.
COVENTRY, RI — Coventry Little League ended up Saturday on the wrong side of a 9-5 score. But they made it exciting. After their Midwest opponents jumped out to a 2-0 lead, the Rhode Islanders battled back. They even led for a while. They scored five runs in the third. (That rally started after they had two outs.) But Iowa came back and regained the lead. Losing to the Midwest, the New England champs will now settle for a game in the consolation bracket on Monday.
