Coventry Man Accused Of Causing Disturbance At Voting Location

Police say Timothy Masse, 33, confronted voters and election staff, yelled obscenities at them, and interfered with polling operations.

COVENTRY, RI — A Coventry man was arrested Tuesday morning after police said he caused a disturbance at a polling site in town.

Timothy Masse, 33, was charged with disorderly conduct.

Coventry police said they were called to Maple Root Baptist Church, a registered voting location in town, around 10:15 a.m. Voters and election workers told officers Masse confronted voters and election staff, yelled obscenities at them, and interfered with polling operations, police said.

According to police, Masse continued with his behavior, even after officers arrived. Police did not say whether Masse targeted people for supporting a particular candidate.

Police said Masse was held and processed at the Coventry Police Department and awaits arraignment before a bail commissioner.
