'Annie, Get The Gun:' Coventry PD
Police arrested a 27-year-old Scituate man on Thursday afternoon. K-9 Annie found the gun in the woods nearby.
COVENTRY, RI -- A report about a man with a gun near Dave's Marketplace led police to arrest a 27-year-old Scituate man on Thursday afternoon. Casey White is being arraigned today on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a gun without a license or permit.
Police said White was quickly identified and arrested around 4:30 p.m., but officers initially could not find the gun. It was thought he tossed it in the woods off Sandy Bottom Road.
Ultimately, state police dog, K-9 Annie, found the gun in the woods nearby, police said.
