Coventry School Board Special Election: Dates To Know
Candidates for the District 1 school board special election must declare by Feb. 24. The election will be May 3.
COVENTRY, RI — Coventry will hold a special election May 3 to fill a vacancy on the school committee. The winner of the District 1 seat will hold the seat for the remainder of the term, until November 2024.
Those interested in running must declare their candidacy before the end of the month. Here's a look at the dates to know for the special election. Primaries will only be held if enough candidates register to warrant them.
- February 24: Deadline to declare candidacy
- March 6: Last day to register to vote in the primary
- March 15: Mail ballot deadline for primary
- March 16: First day for early, in-person voting for primary
- April 3: Last day to register to vote in the election
- April 5: Primary Day
- April 12: Mail ballot deadline for election
- April 13: First day for early, in-person voting for general election
- May 3: General election
