The 2013 Spring Youth Lacrosse Season concluded Sunday June 9 with Coventry Youth Lacrosse well-represented at the 2013 RI Youth Lacrosse State Semifinals and Championship matches at Brown University and Moses Brown School.
Coach Tom Julian led his U11 Red team to the state Semifinal game as did Coach Dad Carignan with the U13 Red team. Both teams were met with very stiff competition from long-tenured programs in Portsmouth and South County.

The highlight of the day for Coventry was completion of an undefeated season by Coach Joe Bonn's U15 team who defeated CLCF in a tough semifinal match-up and took home the title by defeating Cumberland for a great fame and for competing with the highest degree of sportsmanship by all players and coaches. They are a class organization.
Most important, we wish congratulations to Coach Joe, Coach John and all the players for a great season. For many of this team's players, Sunday's victory was the final game of their youth lacrosse career as they will be heading to high school competition next year.
We wish them well and what a great way for them to finish on a high note!
Also, at Glen Farms in Portsmouth on Sunday, Coventry participated in the first annual RIYLL Statewide U9 Jamboree which included 18 teams from across the state. Coach Jeff Fontaine brought his team to compete in four mini-games and by all accounts, the players and families had a great time at a fantastic venue on a spectacular day!Â
Congratulations to all of the U9's for a great season as well. They have all developed tremendously this year and there is no doubt our organization will see many more quality teams and victories in the coming years.
Thank you to all of the coaches, volunteers, parents and players for an outstanding season!
