Free Day At Providence's Roger Williams Park Zoo

PROVIDENCE, RI — Roger Williams Park Zoo is offering a free day Dec. 27 and slashing admission by half in January and February.

"Roger Williams Park Zoo is keeping the holiday spirit going and inviting guests to enjoy the Zoo all winter long with two special offers," according to a media release.

The Free Admission Day is Saturday, Dec. 27, for visitors arriving between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

"In the spirit of giving, guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to benefit the Rhode Island Community Food Bank," the release said. "Thanks to our friends at Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses, who are generously donating a truck and staff for the day, every item collected will go directly to helping local families."

During half-price January and February, the zoo will be open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and during Providence schools’ vacations.

“We love giving our community more reasons to get outside and visit,” Stacey Johnson, the zoo’s executive director, said in the release.

“Whether you join us for Free Day or take advantage of half-price winter wonder days admission, we’re excited to welcome everyone to the Zoo," Johnson said.
