Fall Fishing In Rhode Island: 25 Ponds, Getting Stocked With Trout
See where you can catch brook and rainbow trout in Rhode Island this fall.
RHODE ISLAND — If you're looking for something to do outdoors this fall, the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management will have you covered, when they stock waterways across the state with fish to catch.
For those looking to go fishing, DEM officials will stock 25 Rhode Island ponds and lakes with brook and rainbow trout. Trout stocking begins Thursday and continues through Oct. 6.
The following waterways will be stocked with brook and rainbow trout:

- Barber Pond, South Kingstown.
- Barberville to Wyoming Pond, Richmond, Hopkinton.
- Blackstone River, Lincoln.
- Bradford Fishing Area, Westerly.
- Breakheart Pond, Exeter.
- Browning Mill Pond, Exeter.
- Carbuncle Pond, Coventry.
- Carolina Trout Pond, Richmond.
- Cronan Landing, Richmond.
- Eight Rod Farm Pond, Tiverton.
- Grantville to Rt. 95, Hopkinton.
- Hope Valley Fishing Area, Hopkinton.
- Kings Factory Bridge, Charlestown.
- Lower Shannock, Charlestown.
- Meadow Brook Pond, Richmond.
- Olney Pond, Lincoln State Park, Lincoln.
- Rt. 165 to Barberville, Exeter, Hopkinton.
- Round Top Ponds, Burrillville.
- Shippee Sawmill Pond, Foster.
- Silver Spring Lake, North Kingstown.
- Spring Grove Pond, Glocester.
- Stafford Pond, Tiverton.
- Upper Pawtuxet, (Hope), Scituate.
- Willet Pond, East Providence.
- Woodville, Richmond, Hopkinton.
Cyanobacteria alerts may prevent stocking in some ponds and lakes.
An updated fishing license is required for all anglers 15 and older. DEM officials also said a trout conservation stamp is required for anyone wishing to keep a trout or to fish in a catch-and-release or "fly-fishing only" area.
