High Bacteria Levels Close Briar Point Beach In Coventry For Swimming
The Rhode Island Department of Health closed the beach to swimming on Wednesday after taking water samples.
COVENTRY, RI — Briar Point Beach in Coventry has closed for swimming, the Rhode Island Department of Health said Wednesday.
The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) recommended the closure because high bacteria levels make swimming unsafe.
RIDOH officials said they will continue to monitor and review beach water quality regularly to ensure safe bathing throughout summer.
