Joseph P. Montefusco, Loving Family Man, Dies at 80
Joseph's funeral service will be held Wednesday morning, visiting hours Tuesday evening.
Joseph P. Montefusco, 80, of Nooseneck Hill Road in Coventry, passed away at Kent Hospital on Saturday, August 17, 2013. He was the husband of the late Florence Louise (Simmons) Montefusco.
Born in Providence, Joseph was a son of the late Guiseppe and Annunziata (Squillante) Montefusco. He was the father of Mark S. Montefusco and Gail A. Ozel and her husband Joseph, all of Coventry; grandfather of Marissa Ozel, Ashley Leuba and the late Justin Ozel; great- grandfather of Annalise Paige Ozel; brother of Domenic Montefusco of Coventry, Adeline DiRocco of Johnston, Carol Golato and Nancy Giordano both of Warwick, and the late Philomena D'Attilio, Etta Marques, Florence, Antonio, Carmine and Ralph Montefusco. He was the companion of Rita Charbonneau of Coventry.Â
Joseph was involved in the Jewelry Industry for more than 37 years. He worked for National Chain, A & Z Jewelry, Smith Precious Metals and Advanced Chemical. He loved spending time with his family after retiring.Â
His funeral service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117), Coventry. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the RI Community Food Bank (www.rifoodbank.org) will be appreciated.
