Maltreatment Factored In Death Of West Warwick 5-Year-Old: DCYF
The child died in September 2021, the department said. The family had no previous involvement with DCYF.
WEST WARWICK, RI — A five-year-old child from West Warwick died in part due to maltreatment, the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families said Thursday.
The family was not previously involved with the department, the disclosure said.
Following the death in September 2021, the department conducted an investigation and determined that maltreatment was a factor. No other details were released due to confidentiality concerns.
