Obituary: Gerard L. "Jerry" Salois, 91, WWII Veteran

​Gerard L. "Jerry" Salois, 91, ​passed away at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center surrounded by his loving family on July 14, 2016.

Gerard L. "Jerry" Salois, 91, passed away at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, July 14, 2016.

He was the husband of Beatrice E. (Lacroix) Salois for 68 years. Born in West Warwick, he was a son of the late Philorom and Belzimira (Belanger) Salois.

Gerard was supervisor at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton before retiring. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. Gerard belonged to the American Legion Post #2, the Knights of Columbus, and he was a dedicated fan of the New England professional sports teams and also the University of Connecticut sports teams.

He was the father of Steven G. Salois of Coventry, Ann Marie Wendling of Manchester, CT, Jeffrey P. Salois of Coventry and Mark R. Salois of North Kingstown; the grandfather of five, and the great-grandfather of four. He was the brother of Leo Salois of Benicia, CA. Gerard was predeceased by one brother and four sisters.

Visiting hours are Friday morning, July 22, 2016 from 9:30 – 11:00 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., (Rte.117) Coventry, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, Coventry. Interment with military honors in the RI Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 N. Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
