Police Investigate Death at Assisted Living Facility

After being notified of a male with no pulse at Summer Villa, Coventry Police are now investigating possible foul play.

 

On Saturday, Oct. 20 at approximately 2:25 a.m., members of the Coventry Police Patrol division responded to the Summer Villa Assisted Living Center located at 51 Laurel Ave. in reference to a call for assistance for a person down with no pulse in an outside smoking area.

Upon arrival, patrols found a male resident of the center being tended to by Summer Villa staff. Fire personnel responded shortly after and began CPR. The resident was immediately transported to Kent Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Further investigation revealed evidence of a disturbance between the victim and another resident of Summer Villa prior to the victim being found. The Coventry Police Detective division is currently investigating the incident.

The name of the deceased will not be released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
