Police Searching for Owner of Starved Pit Bill

COVENTRY, RI— A severely malnourished dog was found wandering in town on Wednesday and police are now looking for its owner.

Police said the dog was located on Fish Hill Road after a report of a stray dog.

The dog, a gray Pit Bull, was located while wearing a black nylon collar and a flea collar.

The dog was brought to an area animal hospital and is being care for by Animal Control officers.

Police said they’re nursing female dog back to health and are trying to help her get to a normal weight.
