Providence Attorney to Become Special Master for CCFD
Richard Land will be appointed to oversee the troubled district.

Providence attorney Richard Land announced Monday that he will be taking on the role of temporary Special Master of the Central Coventry Fire District, which filed for state receivership last Tuesday. Land has been appointed to ensure that judicial orders are followed throughout the legal process.
The 52-member district is currently working without pay as it's $1.6-million deficit is being considered.

Land's appointment will be reviewed by R.I. Superior Court Judge Brian P. Stern on Wednesday.
Land has practiced law in Rhode Island since 1996Â and was named Receiver for the bankrupt 38 Studios in August of this year.
