RI Health: Boil Advisory Lifted For Centre Of New England

The state health department said Thursday it's no longer necessary to boil the water before use.

COVENTRY, RI — The state health department said Thursday it's no longer necessary to boil the water before use. But although there's no more e coli bacteria in the water supply, people who were under the advisory should run their water taps and/ or faucets and flush them out for 10 minutes, if they weren't in use. The health department also recommends:

Cleaning and Sanitizing refrigerators with water dispensers and ice machines; and

Replacing water treatment filter cartridges.
