What's Closed on Memorial Day in Coventry?

Check out which local businesses and departments are open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2013.

 

Get your banking and library books checked out this weekend — due to Memorial Day being a Federal Holiday, all government offices will be closed Monday. That includes the U.S. Post Office and the Coventry Post Office. Coventry Town Hall, Greene Library and other city offices will close as well. Coventry Public Library will be closed both Sunday and Monday and will reopen on Tuesday, May 28, which is also the day that summer hours begin.

Public safety departments, such as police and fire will be in operation for emergency calls and normal patrols, however no administrative services will be available (VIN checks, records, accident reports, tax collections, etc.).

Stop & Shop, Dave's Market, Tom's Market, Walmart and all Coventry liquor stores will observe normal business hours.

Most banks, including Citizens, Sovereign Bank, Coventry Credit Union, Centreville and Randolph Savings will be closed. Be sure to check with your institution — as some banks may remain open limited hours.

All Coventry schools are closed and the Department of Public Works will be operating on a one-day delayed trash pickup schedule come Tuesday.
