“We are starting the process in a timely manner so that we can comply with the state mandated revaluation process and to obtain the most accurate information for taxpayers so they are assessed properly” Fung said.
Employees from Vision Appraisal will be out doing interior and exterior inspections of all city properties. Because it is a full revaluation, the process is expected to take a year-and-a-half.

Vision Appraisal employees will carry photo ID, a letter of ID from the city's Assessor's Office and their cars will be registered with the Cranston Police Department.
"The safety of our residents is paramount as we have these Vision Appraisal inspectors working throughout our city. If anyone has any question or concerns about their identity, please do not hesitate to ask for ID or to contact our police department for verification," Fung said.
All properties should be fully reassessed by December of 2014. You'll receive notice of the new assessments by March 15.
