Providence Man Charged With Murder Following Pawtucket Stabbing
Michael Alvarado, 22, told police he stabbed the victim following a fight between their girlfriends.

CRANSTON, RI — A Pawtucket man is facing murder charges after a Providence man was killed in a stabbing Tuesday evening, according to police.
Emergency responders found Ferdinand Reyes, 34, with a stab wound in his abdomen around 5:30 p.m., police said. He was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital and pronounced dead.
Michael Alvarado, 22, was seen running away from the crime scene, police said, before returning to the area a little while later, and he was arrested.

Police towed a vehicle they believed Alvarado was in after initially leaving the vehicle. It was found at Galego Court using the FLOCK Safety Camera System and held as evidence, police said.
Alvarado was arraigned in Sixth Division District Court in Providence and charged with first-degree murder. He was ordered held without bail.
