Sargent Center Students Honor Valley Country Club Head Golf Pro

Representatives of the Sargent Rehabilitation Adolescent Neuo-Rehabilitation Program present PGA Golf Pro Chad Spencer with a commemorative collage of their 2016 Golf Team.
For six weeks beginning each summer, adolescent students of the Sargent Rehabilitation Center in a partnership with Valley Country Club, participate in a program that allows the students to work to transfer physical therapy mobility skill training to a natural setting within a recreational activity.
Robyn Wyllie, Assistant Director of the Neuro-Rehabilitation Program had this to say.

“The students from the Sargent Rehabilitation Center’s Adolescent Neuro-Rehabilitation Program have truly benefitted and blossomed under the direction of PGA Pro Chad Spencer of Valley Country Club.
Chad is a wonderful teacher and under his guidance the students learned and practiced their golf skills while working on their balance, coordination, attention skills and camaraderie.

The joy and pride they exhibited as their skill level increased was clear to all. The lessons allowed the students to spend time with their peers outside the school rehabilitation setting having fun and cheering each other on.”
Sargent Rehabilitation Center specializes in outpatient medical rehabilitation and education services for children and adults with disabilities with the goal of moving clients toward maximum community access to education, daily living and employment. Sargent offers a Pediatric Center for children with autism and other complicated neurologic disorders: a Neuro-Rehabilitation Center for adolescents and adults with brain injury, and concussion and a Regional Resource Center offering training, consultation and technical assistance to professionals and families.
