CRANSTON, RI — Trash pickup will be delayed by one day this week in Cranston thanks to the late-weekend storm, city officials announced.

The storm, which ended early Monday morning, prompted Cranston schools to move to distance learning for the day.

Snow totals far exceeded the initial forecasts of up to six inches. Most communities saw far more than that, with Greenville topping out at 10.8 inches. Cranston was close to the high end, with between nine and 10.8 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
