Threat of Strong T-Storms, Possible Hail, for RI

Do you have an umbrella? Thunderstorms could bring hail on Thursdayl, the National Weather Service warns.

RHODE ISLAND—What started as an pleasant, sunny spring day could become something a bit more wet and thunderous.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued by the National Weather Service in advance of a band of potentially-fierce thunderstorms forming to our west through Thursday night.

The storms could bring thunder, lightning, hail and heavy downpours and possible localized flooding.

The threat is higher for inland areas. Showers are expected to develop early in the afternoon. The threat should dissipate after sunset and things should clear up nicely by Friday morning, which will be pleasantly warm with a high of about 75, according to the weather service.
